Public
Notice Advertising
As part of its role as a community newspaper, the Independent
Coast Observer publishes public notice advertising ("Legal
Ads") to inform its readers of important actions affecting
them. The ICO was Adjudicated a Newspaper of General Circulation
by Decree# 15294, Mendocino Superior Court on October 13, 1972,
and publishes legal advertising for Mendocino County and for the
City of Point Arena. A Fictitious Business Name Statement protects
the business name for its owner in the community, and also informs
customers and creditors who actually owns the business. Alcoholic
Beverage Control notices inform the community of new or changed
liquor licenses in their area, and County Planners and other governmental
agencies notify area residents of important developments through
Public Notice Advertising.
